After leaving Unsilence in 2003, Jon joined The River, who he played with until 2005 when he left to start a family. Over the many long, sleepless nights that accompany the arrival of a newborn, Jon began to write songs with a mind to starting a new band. He hoped to combine the epic, uplifting feel of Unsilence with the bass-heavy, intricate chords of The River.
However, the long search for like-minded musicians and Jon's own work and family commitments meant that it took five long years before a full line up was achieved. Jon's first port of call was old Unsilence bandmate Kieron, whose solos are crafted from pure emotion.
Next up was Jay whose previous band, the excellent Misericorde had just disbanded. Jay's amazing tone and inventive basslines have added new depth and life to the music.
Nathan was a chance finding. Ten years younger than the other band members, Nathan's raw talent and enthusiasm have helped channel the meaning of these songs through his appreciation of the old masters of metal: Halford, Dio (RIP), Dickinson and Byford.
The last piece of the jigsaw, drum maestro Phil brings new approaches to The Human Condition's music, guided by influences ranging far beyond just metal, Phil's innate groove means that the songs' heaviness never feels laborious.
In 2010, the band twice visited Full Stack Studios in Great Harwood, resulting in a video for The Tempest and a 3-track CD-EP demo. In 2011, shows have been played with Dark Forest, When Idols Fall and Solstice, and the band is set to play the upcoming Doomsday V all-dayer in Wakefield before heading back into the studio at the end of the year.
